WHAT I'M EXCITED ABOUT IN MY LIFE: I'm excited about being pregnant! I'm excited to watch my other children grow and develop into little men. I'm excited about where my relationship with my hubby! I'm excited to change!
STRUGGLE(S) IN MY LIFE: Greg and I have not had the easiest marriage in the last 6 years. It has been really, really, hard. I feel like the war in Iraq made us a lose a lot of our innocence and made us both very bitter towards God. Greg first went at the beginning of the war for 11 months. He missed almost the entire first year of our second sons life and they really had a hard time bonding because of it. When he finally did come home he was a company commander in charge of about 65 guys and their familes. I never saw him, he was so busy and so stressed out, and when I did see him we fought constantly. We found out about 2 weeks after he got home that he would be going back to Iraq in about 9 months. We knew we wanted a big family, so we got pregnant again and Gabe was born 12 days before he left for ANOTHER year. I was so angry with God during that year. He allowed Greg to go back to Iraq, he allowed a lot of people we knew to die or be terribly injured. It was the hardest year of my entire life. Greg has been home one year as of today and we have only been back to "normal" in the last 4 months. Now we are both trying to get back to "normal" with God. I think he (Greg) was just as angry with God as I was. We are trying to get involved in our local church. I so desire, to desire to have a healthy relationship with the Lord I just don't really even know where to begin anymore....okay sorry for emotionally vomiting all over you! Those are my struggles in a large nutshell :)

VOCATIONAL SITUATION: I thought I'd be a stay at home mom but my former employers had so much freelance graphic design work for me that I'm staying pretty busy! Mostly I spend the days with Taylor though, and she enjoys an occassional break from me to play with her grandparents. Oh, and when I am working I create things like magazine ads, web banner ads and promotional emails.
WHAT I'M EXCITED ABOUT IN MY LIFE:We just got hardwood floors. Goofy to be terribly excited about, but along with that comes the feeling that we're kind of settled for a while in a place we're really happy. We just decided to take the TV out of the living room and I'm REALLY excited to be spending the evenings cuddling with my husband and playing with Taylor. Oh, and Taylor is actually sleeping in her crib for part of the night for the first time really in her whole life. It's a whole new world!
STRUGGLE(S) IN MY LIFE: My biggest struggle that I'm kind of winning at the moment (at least for this week!) is trying to balance everything in my life. Work, mothering, keeping a tidy house and being a wife - I'm just this one person and all those things go on in the same place. Juggling it all, figuring out where one ends and one begins, and not letting stress from any of the above ruin the others is a challenge. Laundry piles up and all the more important battles seem lost as well. A client dislikes my work and suddenly I'm a bad mother too. I'm really trying to do it all and do it well, and really trying to figure out how to fit God appropriately at the beginning of my list of things and rely on him. At church we're reading through the Bible in a year, and I'm excited at the prospect of really doing that.
OTHER INFO YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT ME: Wow, I think I just typed more than you ever cared to know. Here's some extraneous info - I'm typing all of this in my car on my laptop using my wireless internet that's streaming out from my house, all while Taylor sleeps in her car seat. It's a common habit of mine to get work done and let Taylor sleep all at the same time.

It makes me sad to hear mothers say that they don't stay home with their children because they want to have an impact on society. I don't think working outside the home is wrong for a mother to do, but I do think society is better benefited if mothers would pour their energy and talent into their children rather than into a job.

WHAT I'M EXCITED ABOUT IN MY LIFE: I am really excited about watching my son grow and change from being a "baby" to being a big boy! It is amazing to watch him learn. I am excited about my marriage and where we are at and sort of getting on our feet in a new place! And, I am excited about wanting to have more kids! :)
STRUGGLE(S) IN MY LIFE: Well, the biggest struggle for us is settling into a new place, meeting friends, finding a church that feels like home, and for me being a BUSY person and making the time for God in my life the way I should. Yet, I have learned so much about his grace and the ways he meets me in the most random times, even if it isn't a "quiet time" (yeah, that went out the window when my child stopped taking a morning nap :). My real time with the Lord is in the evening now when I can relax and enjoy Him, but I still wish it was more and want to find some more fellowship here. Also, learning how to effectively, loving discipline a two year old to make this the terrific twos instead of the terrible twos! :)
OTHER INFO YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT ME: Well, I LOVE that our family is a multicultural family (my husband is from Belarus) and so we are bilingual and bicultural which makes life interesting and fun! :) I LOVE listening to the radio really loud in the car when I get a rare chance to drive by myself somewhere. What I'm excited about in my life: I love watching my kids grow up, and I recently had an essay I wrote picked up for an anthology about women growing up in the evangelical church, which was pretty cool--a nice reminder that there's more to my life than simply dirty diapers and breast pumps!! :-)
Struggles in my life: Hmmmm...my husband works really long hours and travels a lot, along with dealing with a looong commute to Atlanta every day, so he's not here as much as I would like. And his mom is really sick (cancer), so we're very much in the caregiver role between little kids and helping his mom manage daily life--some days burnout feels like a real possibility.
Other things you should know about me: I love tea, music, Grey's Anatomy, My Name is Earl, the Office, and 30 Rock. I'm also a book junkie--have waaaaay too many around the house.

STRUGGLE(S) IN MY LIFE: Well, some of you may know, but Cash is diagnosed with Hypotonic Cerebral Palsy and a Seizure disorder and Developmental Delays. We went to the Weisskopf Center in Louisville and they say if he continues on like he is, he will be Mentally Retarded in some capacity--whether moderate or mild, we do not know. I can handle this, but Cash still hasn't said a single word. This severly limits him in every way. I just pray that he will talk.
OTHER INFO YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT ME: I love reading, working out, Heroes, Designer shoes(fetish), and I like scrapbooking, but don't get to much.
